The Ruffs

The male ruffs (Philomachus pugnax) fighting in the lek. The landscape is inspired by the Siberian bogs near Baikal lake I visited - a breeding habitat typical for these birds.
It was an illustration for my bachelor thesis about the correlation of coloration and behavior of birds.
